French theatrical magicians La Salamandre will explore every nook and cranny of Durham’s medieval streets, leading the audience on a night-time journey that will transform your view of the city. Mysterious and evocative, this beautiful parade uses fire and flame effects to create an unforgettable show to bring delight to a dark winter evening.

La Salamandre, as their name suggests, create street performances using fire. Their pieces remind the audience of ancient rites and wild parties. Previous shows include Gong, carnival show Noir et Jaune, the ritual like Le Feu, the dance and flame show Le Jardin Lumineux, Variations sur la Flamme, moving spectacle Passage/Parade de Feu and Reve. Their work has been seen in Athens, Dubai, Lisbon, Milan, Munich, Rome and across France.
