Let’s Pretend None of this Ever Happened
Tim Etchells
6pm – 11pm | The Gates Shopping Centre (above car park entrance, Framwellgate, Waterside)
Tim Etchells is one of Britain’s most celebrated writer/directors. Based in Sheffield he has written, directed, and occasionally performed in dozens of widely acclaimed performance pieces for theatre company Forced Entertainment which he founded in 1984. He has also published several books, and created several temporary text-based art installations. For Lumiere we have chosen three of his neon signs, which use seemingly inconsequential phrases, but somehow catch the viewer off-guard with their immediate intimacy.
